15. Curriculum


GOAL:

Continue providing linguistically appropriate curriculum and instructional materials in the target language as the dual language education program at each grade level.

OVERVIEW

Each year, as the dual language education program grows, additional materials will be needed based on the program model and the materials already available in the district/at the site in the target language.

  • Core instructional materials (language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, etc.) for each grade level classroom of the program
  • Classroom library materials in the target language:
    • Supplemental/research materials corresponding to the content being taught in the target language at each grade level
    • Authentic literature for voluntary/pleasure reading by grade level
  • School library materials in the target language:
    • Supplemental/research materials corresponding to the content being taught in the target language at each grade level
    • Authentic literature for voluntary/pleasure reading by grade level
