In the Guiding Principles for Dual Language Education, 3rd edition, the third goal of dual language programs, socio-cultural competence, is a critical aspect of every component of dual-language programming and instruction. In fact, DL Programs serve as social incubators for the kind of socio-cultural introspection needed in our society today. Presenters from the Center for Applied Linguistics will examine ways that dual-language staff, students, families, and communities can adopt practices that move the needle on equity. Resources for the journey will also be shared.
