The Brandywine School District in southern Delaware has an immediate opening for a 1st Grade Spanish Spanish Immersion Teacher at Lancashire Elementary School. The Brandywine School District is part of the Delaware World Language Expansion Initiative and houses Spanish immersion programs in three of their elementary schools. The program at Lancashire is entering its second year and benefits from the support of the district coordinator as well as a county-based Spanish immersion coach. All teachers have access to immersion professional learning offered by the Delaware Department of Education and are part of a statewide network of immersion teachers. The district is located in the northwest part of the state and is situated between Wilmington, DE and Philadelphia, PA.

- Develops and administers elementary curriculum in math, science, and Spanish language arts in Spanish consistent with school district goals and objectives.
- Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction.
- Teaches literacy and language arts skills in Spanish, including reading comprehension, writing, listening, and speaking.
