JOB TITLE: Dual Language Reading/Math Interventionist      WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt

REPORTS TO: Campus Principal(s)

PAY GRADE: Teacher Pay Scale

 

DEPT/SCHOOL: Assigned Campus(es)

Primary Purpose:

The Reading/Math interventionist works with administrators, classroom teachers, campus support staff and Central Office to plan and implement quality multi-sensory reading and math instruction.

 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

●        Bachelor’s Degree

●        Valid Texas Teaching Certificate (Not Probationary) in assigned level

●        Master’s Degree (preferred)

●        Professional All Level Reading Specialist Certification (preferred)

●        Bilingual/ESL Certificate/Endorsement (preferred)

 

Experience

●        Three or more years teaching experience.

●        Experience in working with students with reading difficulties (preferred)

●        Familiarity with state, and district standards

●        Training in Texas Reading Academies (preferred)

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

1.       Provide specialized reading and math instruction for students.

2.       Provide support services for students experiencing reading difficulties.

3.       Provide guidance for teachers and campus staff on intervention strategies for students identified as At-Risk for reading and/or math difficulties

4.       Serve as a resource for providing parents and staff with information on reading and math strategies

5.       Serve as a resource for the Campus Response to Intervention (RTI) team.

6.       Compile, submit and maintain periodic reports to campus and district staff for accountability purposes.

7.       Maintains accurate pupil records for evidence of instruction. .

8.       Participates in the planning and evaluation of the school program.

9.       Takes part in the in-service education program of the school.

10.   Perform such other teacher duties assigned by campus Principal and/or Section 504 Coordinator.

11.   Other duties as assigned

Ability to instruct; maintain emotional control under stress.

Frequent district-wide travel.
