North Plainfield

The district is committed to providing Dual Language Immersion Program whereby students will learn in their native language while acquiring a second language. This is important as the number of English Language Learners continues to thrive in North Plainfield. Currently at 30% of the total student population, Pre-K to grade 12, a full time program provides access to the Spanish and English language. The American Reading Company literacy program provides supports to the Dual Language program by providing resources in English and in Spanish. Further, the reading assessment in both languages allow for teachers to learn their students' reading level in two languages, above grade 2. In this program, equal access to language and resources is of the utmost importance. Moreover, the district is committed to supporting our staff with professional development opportunities that allow them to meet the unique learning and language needs of our diverse student population.
